Your main responsibilities:
- The driver transports goods from one point to another in a truck.
- The heavy truck driver operates a truck with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 3.5 tons.
- The articulated truck driver drives a vehicle weighing 38 tons, and by derogation up to 44 tons. Their tractor can pull a single trailer or a semi-trailer for holders of the E license.
- Highly experienced articulated truck drivers may be required to drive categories of vehicles with indivisible mass: exceptional convoys (oversize/overweight loads).
- Driving occupies a large part of the time. The heavy truck or articulated truck driver oversees the loading of their truck or trailer at departure and arrival. They are responsible for administrative tasks and sometimes play a commercial role.
- Involves daily travel on road networks and construction sites. During loading/unloading, it involves working outdoors and being exposed to weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind).
